Kick Off
Our last festival (2025)
Weitersroda Castle is a Renaissance castle situated in the geographical centre of Germany. It was first mentioned in records in 1478. Over the centuries it has been owned by counts, dukes, duchesses, princes and entrepreneurs – until it was (mis)managed as ‘public property’ during the East German stalinist era.
In 2008, Weitersroda Castle was bought in a neglected and dilapidated state by Florian Kirner.
Since then, the Renaissance castle has been saved from destruction, rebuilt and developed.
The three-storey main building, set in stone and timber, contains 36 rooms. The stable, with its huge attic, will also be used for the event. The courtyard is dominated by a 300-year-old lime tree and offers a full infrastructure for events. Our temple grove invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
Weitersroda Castle has excellent internet access thanks to two fibre optic lines. It is a hub for various networks and communities.
Schloss Weitersroda
Schlossstrasse 8
98646 Hildburghausen
Germany
Located at the southern slope of the enchanted Thuringian Forest, we are far away from any big city. Relax into “The Green Heart of Germany”.
Slow down.
By car:
Ask Google-Maps for “Schloss Weitersroda” and the good old German Autobahn will bring you here.
By train:
Coming in from North, East or South, you want to reach the highspeed train (ICE) running between Berlin and Munich.
The station you want to reach is “Hildburghausen”, there we can pick you up.
Coming in from the South, “Coburg” is also an option.
Coming in from the West you aim for “Eisenach” and from there a train will take you to Hildburghausen.
By plane:
Should it be possible for you, to get a transfer flight to the Airports of Nuremberg or Erfurt this would be the most convenient option, just 1 hour away from Hildburghausen or Coburg by train.
From the German main airports—Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Leipzig—it will take you 3 to 4 hours by train to come to Hildburghausen—or slightly less by rental car.
